Now that I’ve officially been here and exploring for a month, I thought I’d put together like a highlight reel? lol enjoy!
JAZZ IN THE GARDEN
Every Friday tons of people sit all around the National Sculpture Gallery and listen to different jazz bands play/drink sangria. Great time great time.
THE NATIONAL ART GALLERY
This has been my favorite museum so far. It’s free and it’s just enough to walk around and look at things, you don’t even have to read anything to be impressed.
THE 4TH OF JULY
If you’re in DC for the 4th of July, you can’t go wrong but we went to the National Mall and watched the fireworks under the Washington Monument. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!! They had great musical accompaniment and everything, but I wish it lasted longer.
THE MONUMENTS AT NIGHT
The first time I walked through the monuments was at night, and then when I went during the day it was a very below average experience. They’re so much more beautiful at night! I’m gonna go back.
Georgetown is my favorite place here. Mostly cause of cupcakes. But it’s mostly the most charming place ever. The church I’ve been going to is in Georgetown right by the water so I like to walk/sit along the water sometimes but there’s also lots of great shopping and of course Baked & Wired and Georgetown cupcakes. Most people have a favorite but I think I’m just gonna switch off…
MOVIES IN THE PARK
Last night we went to our first movie in the park and we couldn’t have picked a better night because How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was playing! It was so nice outside and so many people were there, I really enjoyed it. I got some Junior Mints and Sour Patch Kids Before and ended up eating about 60 grams of sugar. Definitely going back next week.
