Essential Oils Morning & Night For Anxiety

I’ve been treating my anxiety with supplements (recommended by my Naturopathic doctor) for a little over a year now and I’ve seen a huge improvement in certain areas, like my sleeping pattern and energy throughout the day, but around October my general anxiety reached its ultimate peak. At that point, I was willing to try absolutely anything to help me function a little bit easier throughout the day.

After reading about the benefits of essential oils for treating anxiety, I decided it was worth a try! I did some research and settled on these two, which I’ve been using for about 4 months now. I may not experience extreme or instant feelings of calmness, but there is enough scientific research backing this stuff up that I trust I am doing something great for my mind and body!


In the morning & at night I rub some doTERRA Balance Essential Oil Grounding Blend 15 ml on the bottoms of my feet and finish it off behind my ears, just for an extra sense of calmness and tranquility.

On long days, or days where I feel like I just need a little bit more inner-peace, I put a drop of NOW Foods Bergamot Oil in my palms, rub them together, hold them up to my face and take 3 deep belly breaths.

Instead of this being just another added pressure to the routine that is my day, I let myself do this when I feel necessary. I don’t apply the oils every single morning and every single night, but I keep them on the window sill above my bed so they’re there when I’m ready for them. If anything, it’s enough to just be able to dedicate a small part of my day to focus on being calm, allow myself to take some deep breaths and do something kind for myself.

Anyway, I really loved this piece on essential oils that I read on the Lo Down and found it super informative. It encouraged me to share what I do to help with my anxiety, so I thought I’d share it with you all, too :)
