Spring Favorites

There are a few things that I’ve been obsessing over lately so I thought, why keep them to myself? You’ll notice a common theme: food & beauty products. That basically sums up my life lately..

1. Tocca Cleopatra rollerball perfume

I get really obsessed with fragrances and whenever I smell a new one that I like on someone, I always have to creepily ask what it is, and then I always want to buy it. Since perfume is so expensive, I found a middle ground and have tried to settle with rollerballs, which is a pretty good self-compromise I’d say. Two summers ago my scent obsession was Tocca’s Colette, and I just recently discovered Cleopatra.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow

I’m way late on the Anastasia Beverly Hills train, but I recently invested in some Dipbrow (shade: Caramel) after swearing by my Elf $3 eyebrow pallet for a while. I still love Elf’s for a natural look, but my DipBrow is my go-to for a more night-time look. It fills in way better and since it is kind of a gel, it sets my brows without having to use a brow gel.

3. Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask from Lush

In the past I have used Lush’s BB Seaweed face mask which I loved. I’ve been a fan of Lush face masks lately because something really weird happened with my skin the  past year and it got really sensitive so I started a brand new skin care regimen and have turned to only non-harsh, simple and natural ingredients. For a while I was only using raw honey masks, but because Lush is all fresh ingredients, it’s perfect for sensitive skin. The Catastrophe Cosmetic mask is great for breakouts because its main ingredient is blueberries. I swear that I’ve never experienced such good results from a face mask!

4. Poetry books

I talked about Rupi Kaur’s Milk & Honey in a recent post, but I also ordered  Chasers of the Light: Poems from the Typewriter Series by Tyler Knott Gregson. They are very different but both equally as beautiful! Gregson’s poems are definitely more romantic, but just as relate-able. Here’s a photo of one of my favorite poems ^^^ but I was tempted to photograph almost every page.

5. Fruit Bars & Lara bars from Trader Joe’s

Call me weird for even including this but I think everyone should know about these bars and to be honest they probably do and I’m the last to know but LÄRABAR’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Fruit and Nut Bars is the best bar out there and also Trader Joe’s Fruit Bar With Flax & Chia Seeds is a gift. I know Lara is paleo and if the fruit bar isn’t, it’s definitely close. I add flax and chia to at least one of my meals a day, so when I found this bar with it already included in it, you can imagine my excitement ;)

6. Charles Shaw $2 Merlot

Do I even really need to say anything? It’s $2. S/o Trader Joe’s again. I will say, however, that the Merlot is significantly better than the cab.

7. Vanilla Chai Raisins

No image necessary, I just really don’t think there’s anything that tastes better in the world. I get it from the bins at our local Isla Vista food co-op, but I’m gonna need to figure out where else I can get them when I move next month..

8. Benefit’s Hello Flawless liquid foundation & Dew the Hoola liquid bronzer

I also am probably way late on the Benefit train, BUT the Benefit Cosmetics Dew the Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer is new so I can’t be too late on that. I got a free sample with a purchase and am constantly torn between using it every day or not using it so I don’t run out. I love it because I think it looks more natural and dewy than powder bronzer and honestly it just smells so good. I switched to Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless in Ivory after having only really used Bare Minerals powder for the past 9 years. I still love my minerals, but it’s been a nice change of pace, also smells really good, and is lightweight/light-medium coverage so it works well with my oily and sensitive skin. I’m really picky about what I put on my face so I think Benefit and Bare Minerals will always be it for me.
