I went to the Farmer’s Market at Eastern Market today because in addition to the usual South Hall Market, there’s an outdoor market put on by local artists and jewelers that only happens on Saturdays and Sundays. I felt so lame to have loved it so much. But there was fruit and coffee and flowers (some of my favorite favorite things) and beautiful artwork and jewelry and all of vendors were so sweet! I took my camera with me because I just had a feeling I would have hearts in my eyes the whole time. I was right. Look!!
^^It’s like a velvet flower!?!?! WHAT? But of course, I went with the hydrangea.
^^I looooved these paintings of the city. Van Gogh is just a little cuter mixed with some DC.
^^It’s hard to pass up iced coffee & flowers.
^^This is inside the South Hall that’s open every day, which is where the meats and cheeses and other groceries are (and apparently really good buckwheat pancakes).
^^Byron helped me pick out a cheese to put on the salad I was going to make with the kale and nectarine I bought outside. He also wanted his pic taken and made me promise to come back and give him a printed version. Will do, Byron, will do.
^^The salad mentioned above. It looks pretty fancy but it only cost me like $3.35 to get all the ingredients!! Winner.
There are a few other farmer’s markets that go on in the city that I’ve never even been to, but I think Eastern Market may already be my favorite…do I even give the other ones a try??
